About Us

AHON (Acts of Hope for the Nation) Foundation is a non-stock, non-profit organization whose main mission is to bring books and Filipino children together. It is the corporate social responsibility initiative of Filway Marketing and was founded by Filway’s President and CEO, Hector O. Tagaysay, and former Pathways to Higher Education Executive Director, Harvey S. Keh, on May 2006 (incorporated April 2007) as a response to the needs of the public school education system in the country.

Vision
To become a leading advocate of education, committed to uplifting the lives of Filipino youth, by providing relevant learning opportunities.

Mission
- To upgrade the quality of education by building a culture of learning among Filipino children
- To empower Filipino communities to rediscover the value of unity and cooperation by engaging them to participate in developing fully-functional libraries in their area.

AHON gathers the communities of the elementary schools and upon a series of multi-sectoral meetings, members of the communities take part in developing the libraries.  Stakeholders in the community work hand in hand in renovating their library, each one contributing time and effort to transform the old library into a fun learning environment for children.

Their new libraries boast of newly painted shelves and furniture, colorful and eye-catching murals, and storytelling areas with mats and pillows.  Upon completion of the libraries, AHON donates brand new Time Life books from Filway Marketing, Inc.  The reference materials include science encyclopedias, storybooks, multi-media kits, mathematics, english, general information books, and other educational kits.
